The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF), density, and magnetic susceptibility data from northeastern Washington State — Earth MRI Republic survey area Portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF), density, and magnetic susceptibility data from northeastern Washington State — Earth MRI Republic survey area
This data release presents portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) data and physical properties (grain density, saturated bulk density, dry bulk density, and magnetic susceptibility) of 30 rock samples collected from an Earth MRI survey area in northeastern Washington, USA. Rock type information (age and lithology) are also included. The rock samples were initially collected for low...

This data release contains data used within the PRMS CONUS Futures Portal including descriptions of data layers in the Uncertainty Analysis section, reference model performance at stream gage locations, and model performance metrics for climate model based simulations. 1) The description of variables available in the Uncertainty Analysis tab include variable short name, variable long...
Concentrations of Flea Treatment Insecticides in Prairie Dog Bait Pellets Concentrations of Flea Treatment Insecticides in Prairie Dog Bait Pellets
A collaborative effort with US Fish and Wildlife Services is underway with the goal of reducing the spread of flea contracted plague in prairie dog (Cynomys spp.) colonies across the US. One method of flea reduction being studied involves spreading bait pellets containing insecticides commonly used for flea control around prairie dog habitats. To better understand the effectiveness of...
Lake Trout (Salvelinus namaycush) Morphometrics, Mercury Concentrations, Age and Growth, and Food Web Metrics for Lakes in Alaskan National Parks, 2020-2023 Lake Trout (Salvelinus namaycush) Morphometrics, Mercury Concentrations, Age and Growth, and Food Web Metrics for Lakes in Alaskan National Parks, 2020-2023
This data release provides information on lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) collected from 10 lakes located in Alaska's national parks. The data are in two tables: (1) capture information, (2) morphometric measurements and mercury (Hg) concentrations, and a folder of individual photographs of captured lake trout. Lake trout were collected between September of 2020 and August of 2023 from...
Years since implementation of U.S. Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS) vegetation management activities for bat habitat Years since implementation of U.S. Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS) vegetation management activities for bat habitat
This data release contains the spatial raster outputs, R code, and lookup table from a synthesis of U.S. Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS) vegetation management activities hypothesized to influence bat habitat. The included raster data cover the continental United States and represent the number of years that have passed since a given management action was implemented...
Three-Dimensional Chronostratigraphic Model and supporting well data for the Los Angeles Coastal Plain, Los Angeles and Orange Counties, California Three-Dimensional Chronostratigraphic Model and supporting well data for the Los Angeles Coastal Plain, Los Angeles and Orange Counties, California
This data release contains a digital geospatial dataset generated by the U.S. Geological Survey under a cooperative agreement with the Water Replenishment District of Southern California to characterize the three-dimensional hydrogeology of the Los Angeles Coastal Plain. The geospatial dataset covers about 580 square miles of the largest coastal plain of southern California and contains...
