Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Morphometric Landslide Susceptibility Results of the Northwestern United States and Southwestern Canada Derived from Elevation Data Morphometric Landslide Susceptibility Results of the Northwestern United States and Southwestern Canada Derived from Elevation Data
Landslide susceptibility models show the potential of landslide occurrence at a location. These models are pivotal for reducing losses associated with landslides (Godt and others, 2022). In this data release, we include susceptibility results from the associated manuscript by Woodard and Mirus (2025). This manuscript shows how a morphometric model can create consistent and effective...
Geochemical Data for Produced Water and Gas from the Antrim Shale in Michigan, 2023 Geochemical Data for Produced Water and Gas from the Antrim Shale in Michigan, 2023
In 2023, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with Riverside Energy Michigan, LLC, conducted an injection experiment to monitor the natural rate of biogenic methane generation in the Mortensen A4-24 well which was completed in the Antrim Shale and located in Antrim County, Michigan, United States of America. Approximately 20 barrels (bbl) of produced water was pumped from the well...
Watershed Level Occurrences of Yellow Lampmussel from Museum and Survey Data Watershed Level Occurrences of Yellow Lampmussel from Museum and Survey Data
Natural history museum records may provide unique information on the distribution of species additional to survey data collected by resource managers. However, there can be challenges to using museum data for analyses such as spurious geographic information, misidentifications, and incorrect labeling. Museum records have been centralized by open-source repositories with flags for...
Data on the Deterioration of Different Types of Attachment Hardware on Sham Satellite Radio Collars Data on the Deterioration of Different Types of Attachment Hardware on Sham Satellite Radio Collars
Polar bears (Ursus maritimus) are difficult to study because of logistical challenges. Satellite radio collars are an excellent tool for efficiently collecting information on the distribution and habitat use of polar bears because they can be deployed for multiple years. Radio collars can be constructed using materials and devices that result in the collar falling off an animal so that...
The North American Breeding Bird Survey Mapping products 1966 - 2022 The North American Breeding Bird Survey Mapping products 1966 - 2022
This data product consists of raster digital data of population change and abundance estimates for 520 species of North American birds estimated from North American Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) data. Estimates of trend (yearly % change) from 1966-2022 and mean abundances for the interval 2018-2022 are spatially smoothed from data for each species collected on BBS routes. Metadata for the...
