Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

qPCR data from eDNA autosampler surveys for salmon migrating through the Lake Washington Ship Canal, June - September 2022 qPCR data from eDNA autosampler surveys for salmon migrating through the Lake Washington Ship Canal, June - September 2022
The content contains metadata from an eDNA survey that assessed the efficacy of an autonomous eDNA sampler for tracking Chinook, sockeye, and coho salmon migrating through the Lake Washington Ship Canal between June and September 2022.
Sediment temperature data, sediment redox data, and vertical specific discharge calculations from a salt marsh along the Herring River in Wellfleet, MA, September to December 2023 and June to July 2025 Sediment temperature data, sediment redox data, and vertical specific discharge calculations from a salt marsh along the Herring River in Wellfleet, MA, September to December 2023 and June to July 2025
Groundwater – surface water (GW-SW) exchange plays a fundamental role in the transport of energy and solutes in coastal salt marshes, which may be influenced by flow of terrestrial groundwater and tidal fluctuations. Sediment heat tracing and redox tracking experiments were conducted at a hillslope-adjacent fringing salt marsh on the Herring River in Wellfleet, MA to test new monitoring...
Ecosystem carbon stocks and fluxes on 62 Department of Defense installations within the contiguous United States from 2001-2021 Ecosystem carbon stocks and fluxes on 62 Department of Defense installations within the contiguous United States from 2001-2021
This data set contains tabular simulation model output from the Land Use and Carbon Simulator (LUCAS) summarizing annual changes in land use and land cover (LULC), ecosystem carbon stocks and ecosystem carbon fluxes within 62 U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) installations covering a total land area of approximately 106 hectares across the contiguous United States (CONUS) from 2001 to...
Nutrient mass and internal cycling data for Great Salt Lake, UT, 2020 Nutrient mass and internal cycling data for Great Salt Lake, UT, 2020
The Great Salt Lake (GSL) ecosystem relies on a balanced supply of nutrients to support habitat and industrial uses (Belovsky and others, 2011). To better understand processes controlling GSL nutrient availability, this dataset includes field measurements and laboratory analyses from the water column, sediment, porewater, sediment slurry, brine shrimp, river inflows, sediment traps, and
2018-2019 Freshwater Invertebrate Data to Support Research on Community Structure and Secondary Production Under Different Water Sources 2018-2019 Freshwater Invertebrate Data to Support Research on Community Structure and Secondary Production Under Different Water Sources
This dataset contains CSV files of freshwater invertebrate and stream physicochemsitry data used to calculate secondary production of invertebrate biomass.
Geochemistry and x-ray diffraction data for hydrothermal manganese oxide rocks from the Samoa hotspot region in the South Pacific Ocean collected during research expedition KM0506 Geochemistry and x-ray diffraction data for hydrothermal manganese oxide rocks from the Samoa hotspot region in the South Pacific Ocean collected during research expedition KM0506
Hydrothermal manganese oxide rocks were collected via dredge from the Tulaga Seamount, the flank of Ofu Island, and from Soso seamount in the Samoa hotspot region offshore American Samoa during the KM0506 cruise aboard the R/V Kilo Moana in April of 2005. Rocks were subsampled at USGS and analyzed for mineralogy by x-ray diffraction as well as sent to SGS laboratories, Canada for major...
