Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Model inputs and outputs associated with a 10-year continuous daily simulation of chloride flux from a suburban watershed in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA Model inputs and outputs associated with a 10-year continuous daily simulation of chloride flux from a suburban watershed in Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
This data release documents the inputs and outputs for a coupled water-chloride mass balance model at Long Branch in Fairfax County, VA. Data inputs include daily measurements of various ecological conditions including precipitation, temperature, discharge and specific conductance. Output data include daily predicted values of discharge, chloride concentration, and volume for the...
Elicited constructed value of information scores for American kestrel uncertainties in the United States from a 2023 structured decision making workshop Elicited constructed value of information scores for American kestrel uncertainties in the United States from a 2023 structured decision making workshop
The American kestrel (Falco sparverius; hereafter kestrel) is a widespread but declining raptor species in North America. We organized a rapid prototyping workshop to use decision analysis to develop research priorities for understanding environmental drivers of population decline in the United States for the kestrel. The virtual workshop spanned 2.5 days and was held in-person in...
Infiltration data from mini disks and bottomless buckets: postfire soil hydrologic and biogeochemical response and recovery in northern California, USA Infiltration data from mini disks and bottomless buckets: postfire soil hydrologic and biogeochemical response and recovery in northern California, USA
California’s wildfires are setting historic records for length, size, and severity (Safford and others, 2022, Kreider and others, 2024). These wildfires are altering soil processes like infiltration rates and carbon cycling over increasingly large areas (Staley and others, 2017; Kelly and others, 2020; Baur and others, 2024; Dow and others, 2024). In northern California, it is unclear...

Stable Isotope Values of Black Oystercatchers and their Prey Stable Isotope Values of Black Oystercatchers and their Prey
These data contain carbon and nitrogen isotope ratios in samples of Black Oystercatcher tissues (feathers and claws), as well as tissues from several species of prey, including mussels, limpets, clams, and snails. Samples were collected across a significant portion of the Black Oystercatcher's range, including the coast of the northern Gulf of Alaska down to the Salish Sea in British...
