The results show a six percent decrease in the volume of water stored in the High Plains (or Ogallala) aquifer.

A contract estimated at $154 million has been awarded today, October 1, 2002 to SAIC, of San Diego, Calif., for operation of the U.S. Geological Survey’s EROS Data Center, in Sioux Falls, S.D. This is one of the largest service contracts within the Department of the Interior.

Aimed at providing hydrological information to emergency management and other essential government agencies, the 2001 Flood Tracking Website will be up and running at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6.
