Alexander Bissell

Biography

Alex began with the USGS as a Pathways intern in 2017, working on surveying of rivers and structures as well as mapping of floodplains in GIS. After graduating from UMASS Lowell with a B.S. in Environmenal Science in 2019, he began working on Surface WQ networks in Massachusettes and Rhode Island, water quality monitoring and sampling in marine environments off the coast of Sakonnet, RI., and other projects in the water quality and ecosystem assesment sections. Experienced in rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing, Alex has designed and implemented several novel solutions to challenges in the field, with many still in active deployment.
