Anthony "Tony" S Trease
Tony is a Hydrologic Technician/Hydroacoustics Specialist with the USGS Colorado Water Science Center (COWSC), in Lakewood, CO.
Tony's career started in 2008 as a USGS/NAGT Summer Intern in New Cumberland, PA. Then he transitioned to a hydrological technician position in Exton, PA, collecting surface water and water quality data. In 2014, Tony transferred to the COWSC Lakewood Field Office. He became the Lakewood Field Office Hydroacoustics Lead in 2016 and in 2023 became the COWSC Hydroacoustics Specialist. Tony became a Code-4 Supervisor in the Lakewood Field Office in 2024 where he currently co-leads a team of hydrologic technicians.
Tony expertise is in surface water, hydroacoustics, flood measurements, under ice measurements, and salt dilution tracer measurements. Tony teaches national USGS hydroacoustics and surface water classes. He is an Office of Quality Assurance field reviewer for External Technical Reviews. He is interested in new methods in surface water data collection that make data collection more accurate and safer.
