The Thompson Creek mine is an inactive and abandoned tungsten mine located along Thompson Creek about 10.5 miles (17 km) northwest of Clayton, Idaho (see location map in file LOCATION.PDF). The mine consisted initially of open pit mining of outcrops and later of underground workings accessed by a single adit.
