CeJay Petersen
USGS Hydrologist focusing on water-quality studies, with projects on invasive species detection and population dynamics, harmful algae blooms, nutrient levels and trends in reservoirs, and sediment-associated contaminants.
CeJay began her career with the USGS in 2017 at the Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center as a hydrologic technician intern. She is currently a Hydrologist with a primary focus on various water-quality projects within the studies section. She has worked on projects studying invasive species detection and population dynamics, harmful algae blooms, nutrient levels and trends in reservoirs, and sediment-associated contaminants. She has also been involved in the National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) program. She is currently project chief for the Zebra Mussel Monitoring Program which focuses on the detection and population dynamics of the invasive species in over 20 waterbodies.
