Submarine Groundwater Discharge
We define submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) to consist either of fresh groundwater, re-circulated seawater, or a composite thereof. We evaluate and present SGD in terms of a vector for nutrient delivery to coastal waters.
River WebCams of the South Atlantic Water Science Center (Georgia, North and South Carolina)
We have installed webcams at a number of locations in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to allow you to view, in real time, the current river-stage conditions. Some cameras allow users to temporarily control the tilt, pan, and zoom. During periods of flooding, the South Atlantic Water Science Center might take control of the camera.
AzWSC Capabilities: Surface-Water Science
The AzWSC maintains a system of ~217 streamflow gages in Arizona, providing data and producing information about hazard, stream, and water-supply conditions. The primary clients of this data and information are local, State, Federal, and Tribal governments. The public can also access these data, including real-time streamflow alerts and reports through the USGS NWIS-Web for the Arizona Water...
Chattahoochee River, Georgia BacteriAlert
Background: How safe is it to swim, wade, and boat in the Chattahoochee River today? For a highly urbanized river such as the Chattahoochee, much of the answer depends on bacteria levels in the water. This website provides "real time" turbidity data, the estimated Escherichia coli (E coli) bacteria count, the most recent E. coli bacteria counts (sample collected each Thursday), and National Park...
Peachtree Creek WaterWatch - Atlanta, GA
Peachtree Creek WaterWatch, Atlanta, GAPeachtree Creek is a major tributary to the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, GA. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has been monitoring stream stage and streamflow at or near the Northside Drive gage location since 1958. The Peachtree Creek watershed occupies a large portion of the northeast metro Atlanta area and collects precipitation runoff that drains into...
