James E Smith, IV
James is a Hydrologist with the Colorado Water Science Center (COWSC) in Lakewood, CO.
James came on a new hire with the USGS in January 2024. Prior to working with the USGS, James worked as a hydrologist with the USDA at the National Sedimentation Laboratory (NSL) in Oxford, MS. His work at the NSL was focused upon investigations related to geomorphology, fluvial hydraulics, bedload sediment transport, and bedload sediment transport surrogate technologies. James looks forward to serving on various surface water, sediment, geomorphology, and groundwater related projects in the Rocky Mountain Region.
