Biography

I am a Hydrologic Technician with the U.S.G.S. located in the Augusta, ME office of the New England Water Science Center.  I was hired on back in 2015 and started as a student for 2 years, the last year I was hired through the pathways program.  When I was a student I was attending the University of Maine at Machias pursuing my Advanced Certificate in Geographic Information Systems or GIS.  Before that I attended Kennebec Valley Community College and received my Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems or CIS.  Currently, at the U.S.G.S. my work entails mapping of floodplains using GIS and GIS based products, surveying out in the field to update the flood zones throughout New England and assisting in Surface Water Measurements as needed.  I also help prepare and attend meetings with the public and town officials to give them the information and intel as to what we are doing and why as it relates to updating the flood zones.  My time with the U.S.G.S. and my colleagues have all been great and I look forward to pursuing a career with the U.S.G.S. in the years to come.
