John Stevenson

John Stevenson joined the USGS Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center in 2024 as a Physical Scientist. He currently serves as the Acting Unit Chief for the Ecohydrology Support Unit and project manager for studies assessing the effects of mining on the Transboundary Koocanusa Reservoir.

John has over 20 years of experience working in multidisciplinary projects evaluating landscape change and management influences on aquatic systems. His background is in fisheries ecology and has spent much of his career managing scenario-based studies to evaluate the influence of land-use decisions on drought, flood risks and instream habitats.
