Sam is a Hydrologic Technician with the Colorado Water Science Center (COWSC), Western Colorado Office, in Grand Junction, CO.

Sam began his career as a Research Technician with the Rio Grande Research Center located on the campus of Sul Ross State University with a focus on remote sensing and geomorphic change detection within the canyons of the Rio Grande in Far West Texas. He got his start with the USGS assisting with bathymetric surveys throughout the Missouri River Basin as a NAGT Summer Intern with the Columbia Environmental Research Center. He continued as a Physical Science Technician with the Southwest Biological Science Center, aiding in the development of a novel land-use classification system for the Colorado Plateau. After a few seasons as a Cadastral Survey Technician with the BLM working throughout Southeastern Utah, He returned to the USGS as a Hydrologic Technician with the Moab Field Office before joining the Water Quality team at the COWSC.
