Skylar A Smith
Skylar Smith is a Hydrologic Technician with the USGS, Central Midwest Water Science Center located in Urbana, Illinois.
Skylar A Smith began his career with the USGS, Illinois Water Science Center in 2014 as a student working on Groundwater NAWQA sampling. In 2016, he began working full time as a data section streamgaging technician operating and maintaining stage-discharge and index velocity streamgages, as well as analyzing, approving, and auditing continuous surface water records. In 2018 he acted as the project chief for Groundwater NAWQA sampling in Illinois. Skylar's professional experience includes groundwater quality sampling in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri, hydroacoustic data collection, stream gaging, public outreach, EPA LAKES assessment data collection, bathymetric survey data collection, and assisting with data collection for various Asian Carp projects.
