Zack graduated from Mansfield University of PA with a B.S. degree in Environmental Biology. From there he was employed by the US Forest Service in the Allegheny National Forest as a technician working in the areas of recreation, hydrology, and engineering. After finishing his temporary assignment in the National Forest he moved on to obtain a hydrology technician position for the US Geological Survey in the Lower Mississippi Gulf Center in the Baton Rouge office. This eventually lead him to where he is today as a hydrology technician for the Kansas Water Science Center in the Lawrence Field Office.
