The ScienceBase Data Release (SBDR) Tool streamlines the process of starting a ScienceBase data release, including creating a landing page and reserving a digital object identifier (DOI) for your data. This tool integrates with the USGS Information Product Data System (IPDS) to reduce redundancy in information input.
Who is the audience for this tool?
The primary audience for this tool is USGS researchers or data managers who are ready to start working on their data release landing page in ScienceBase and have started their IPDS record for documenting their data release review and approval.
Science Center data managers can also contact sciencebase_datarelease@usgs.gov to receive email notifications, ScienceBase read/write permissions, and DOI management permissions when people from their Science Center use the SBDR Tool.
How do I get started?
Login to the SBDR Tool, click “Create New Data Release,” and use your IPDS number to pre-populate the form.
