Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 18:04:17 HST
Episode 37 is producing fountains approximately 450-500 feet (135-150 meters) high. At current rates, episode 37 fountains should last somewhere between 8:00 pm HST to midnight HST tonight. This could change if the south vent erupts.
Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 15:06:08 HST
Episode 37 fountains are about 400 feet (120 meters) high and very broad. Winds are light from the NNE and will take most tephra and gas to the SSW. It is possible that gas and fine ash may be transported to the south side of Mauna Loa.
Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 14:38:54 HST
Episode 37 fountaining has begun. Tremor and tilt accelerated around 2:30 p.m. HST Currently only the north vent is erupting. Fountains are broad, but less than 100 feet (30 m).
Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 14:29:58 HST
Dome fountaining is very vigorous occupying the entire north vent with founts 30-50 feet (10-15 m). The summit is deflating, and tremor is slowly increasing. The start of episode 37 as erupting lava becomes more gas rich.
Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 14:16:02 HST
North vent drained back at 2:07 pm HST and began overflowing again at 2:15 pm HST. Intermittent precursory overflows may continue or evolve into the start of episode 37 fountaining.
Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 14:04:23 HST
A second overflow began from the north vent at 1:35 pm and is continuing to grow in volume. Dome fountains are increasing to 15-30 feet (5-10 meters). Tremor is increasing and tilt is beginning to decrease.
Kilauea Message 2025-11-25 13:18:02 HST
The north vent began overflowing at 12:36 pm HST and is continuing at this time. After the small deflation yesterday, the summit of Kīlauea continues to inflate. The forcast window for episode 37 fountains is November 25 to 28.
Kilauea Message 2025-11-22 20:15:15 HST
There have been 24 south vent overflows since 9 a.m. HST this morning. The last one went from 18:50 to 20:03 and had sustained dome fountains approximately 30 feet (10 meters) high. Most of the rest of the overflows were short-lived.
