Kris Ludwig Participates in US-China Young Scientist Forum

Staff scientist Kris Ludwig was invited to participate in a US-China Young Scientist Forum (YSF) focused on disaster management, resilience, and mitigation on October, 15th at the U.S. Department of State. The YSF brings together scientific researchers and policymakers from the U.S. and China for informal discussions, with this year's program hosting 10 Chinese scientists and policy makers as part of the U.S. China People-to-People Exchange. Participants discussed multiple topics in the disaster arena including risk communication, partnerships with companies, nonprofits, community organizations, local and state governments, and products, services, and strategies for resilience. Meeting objectives included attaining a better understanding of the U.S.-China bilateral relationship and science diplomacy efforts and a better understanding of the scientific challenges and opportunities in China.
