Specialized Assessments

The GLSC conducts specialized ecosystem assessments on high-priority topics or landscapes on issues that exist at various scales. These assessments typically take place at single a point in time rather than on a periodic basis, though some utilize annually generated data. Some assessments focus on key linkages within food webs, such as energy transfer between nearshore and offshore fish species, or the contribution of various factors driving change in production of algae. Other assessments focus on evaluating suites of factors relevant to ecosystem restoration planning and generate data visualization tools used by environmental managers.
