Northeast Region Coastal Science Capabilities Team
Learn about the Northeast Region Coastal Science Capabilities Team.
About Us
The Region’s Coastal Science Capability Team (CSCT) strives to advance coastal science programs in the Northeast Region as well as nationally. Recognizing that coastal science involves scientists from a broad range of disciplines spanning several USGS Mission Areas, the team serves to provide a connection point between USGS Science Centers (SCs) regarding on-the-ground coastal science work. The team also serves as a resource to identify and address areas of need where we can assist (SCs) in the development and implementation of coastal science programs.
Team Goals 2025-2026
Given changes in staffing, the CSCT will take time in 2025-26 to identify common interest where work between scientists, centers, and mission areas may provide opportunities for collaboration. In pursuit of this, the team plans to hold two-to-three lightning-talk seminars in the fall of 2025 and early 2026 featuring coastal science work in the Northeast Region.
