Grants Application Systems

States

Annually, in the fall, a grant program announcement solicits proposals from state geological surveys to inventory geoscientific collections, create metadata for individual samples, enhance digital infrastructure, rescue data, and make the preserved resources publicly discoverable and available for research. The Program Announcement describes annual NGGDPP priorities and provides application instructions. Standard forms, required for federal assistance applications, are included in the grant announcement package. The Program Announcement is made available at www.grants.gov and GrantSolutions. The application period is open approximately 8 weeks. The opportunity is advertised on the NGGDPP website. The NGGDPP notifies state geological surveys and conducts webinars explaining the opportunity and grant application process. Proposal packages are submitted in www.grants.gov.

Information about program announcements will be posted on this website. Annual announcements are generally released in November.

The FY2022 Program Announcement was announced October 15, 2021 and proposals were due January 27, 2022 accommodating changes in response to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
