Step 2: Place a Point on the Map

This section will walk you through the process of adding a new point to the map.

After doing some research to identify the correct location of a structure:

  1. Click on "Create Structure” in the left menu to open an editing window.
  2. Select the appropriate symbol in the editing window and then
  3. Click on the imagery where you would like the point to be.

Be sure to ZOOM IN as far as you can before placing a structure point on the center of the building or cemetery in the map.

An elementary school point added to the TNM Corps Editor
Now that we’ve determined the correct location of the school, we can add a new Elementary School point to the map, centered on the school building in the imagery.
    • Checking Multiple Imagery Sources

While editing, you may default to using one of the background imagery layers more than the others. Each may have different benefits, as well as limitations, depending on the situation and location. This is why it is often a good idea to check multiple layers while researching a point location.
