TNMCorps volunteers research, verify, and edit the structures data that goes in to The National Map, US Topo maps, and a variety of other USGS products. This section will walk you through each aspect of the editing process.

There are 17 different types of structures TNMCorps volunteers collect and update as point data for use on US Topo Maps and other various USGS products. Each structure type is represented by a unique symbol, which is placed on the center of a building or cemetery site in aerial imagery. 

TNMCorps volunteers are responsible for reaching each feature and determining if a new point needs to be added, or if existing points need to be updated or deleted.
