Environmental DNA (eDNA) fish and microbial community analyses in water samples collected by long range autonomous underwater vehicle in southern Lake Michigan (2021)
February 5, 2026
This data set includes metadata for fish and microbes from water samples collected in southern Lake Michigan in August 2021. All field eDNA samples were collected using a Tethys-class Long Range Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (LRAUV) carrying an eDNA sampler, the 3G Environmental Sample Processor (ESP). Water samples were collected at various depths within following target layers: the epilimnion (5-15 m), metalimnion (15-30 m), and hypolimnion (40-70 m) during a 527 km transit within southern Lake Michigan. Sample metadata for DNA extracts are included here and associated sequences are available in NCBI Bioproject PRJNA1291671.
