Surface Table Elevation and Marker Horizon Measurements across Intertidal Habitats in Morro Bay, California
Sampling stations were established by University of San Francisco (USF) in the marsh and mudflats of Morro Bay to measure elevation change and accretion rates in 2004. The stations consisted of surface elevation tables (SET) and paired marker horizons (MH), which measure cumulative elevation change and sediment accretion, respectively. There were also MH-only plots established in the mudflats in Morro Bay. The data presented here includes raw SET pin data, calculated mean elevation and standard error, and cumulative accretion measurements at all MH plots. Individual pin height and feldspar depth measurements should not be treated as independent values. These stations have been monitored over the last 20 years by both USF and the USGS to capture long term change and establish baseline rates of change in the Morro Bay marsh.
