The Occupational Safety and Health Management Branch (OSHMB) is responsible for the U.S. Geological Survey Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program. 

The OSH Program supports USGS management to mitigate risks to employees, visitors, and the lands, resources, and facilities under its jurisdiction (112 DM 16). OSHMB’s mission is to fully support the Bureau's scientific needs of the 21st century via an OSH Program that is:

  • Customer-oriented
  • Technically competent
  • Cost-effective
  • Dedicated to protecting USGS personnel and property resources
