USGS Water Science Centers Partner at 2025 Lake Tahoe Summit
This year’s theme: “Protecting Lake Tahoe: Balancing Sustainable Recreation and Conservation.”
Scientists from the California and Nevada Water Science Centers attended the 29th annual Lake Tahoe Summit to discuss the work the USGS is doing in the Tahoe Basin. This year’s event honored the legacy of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein and her commitment to Lake Tahoe.
The Lake Tahoe Summit is an annual event that brings local, federal, and state leaders together to discuss ways to protect Lake Tahoe and strengthen the partnership underlying the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program. This year’s summit took place on Wednesday, August 6 at Valhalla Tahoe in South Lake Tahoe, California. The event was hosted by U.S. Senator Adam Schiff from California and featured as keynote speaker, actor Jeremy Renner.
Scientists from the California and Nevada Water Science Centers were on hand to answer questions about work the USGS is doing in the Tahoe Basin.
