A new USGS geonarrative presents the history of, and findings from, monitoring of the quality of water in Pennsylvania’s rivers, streams, and lakes.
Since 2002, the USGS Pennsylvania Water Science Center has partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Clean Water to sample and maintain more than 100 surface-water-sampling sites across Pennsylvania comprising the Water Quality Network. USGS also collaborates with the Susquehanna River Basin Commission for network data collection.
