Nicholas J Pieseski
Nick is a Physical Scientist with the Colorado Water Science Center (COWSC), in Lakewood, CO.
As a physical scientist in Colorado Rocky Mountains, Nick has assisted in a range of hydrologic sampling and monitoring projects. Projects involve work such as measurement and analysis of groundwater level data from monitoring wells, collection and management of water quality data pertaining to acid mine drainage and groundwater/surface-water interactions, and the creation of graphical or mapped visualizations of data trends for publication.

Making water tracing rock solid: national, geologic map-based visualization of USGS water strontium isotope data
Nationwide data source for USGS water strontium isotopes for hydrologic, ecologic, and forensic studies
Elevation data from Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the confluence of Fountain Creek at the Arkansas River, Colorado, 2025 Elevation data from Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the confluence of Fountain Creek at the Arkansas River, Colorado, 2025
The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with Colorado Springs Utilities, has been collecting topographic data annually since 2012 at 10 study areas along Fountain Creek, Colorado. The 10 study areas are located along Fountain Creek between Colorado Springs and the confluence of Fountain Creek and the Arkansas River in Pueblo. This data release presents topographic survey data, Light...
Hydrogeophysical, water quality, and stream tracer data collected along the Lake Fork Creek corridor and wetland area in Leadville, Colorado, 2023 and 2024 Hydrogeophysical, water quality, and stream tracer data collected along the Lake Fork Creek corridor and wetland area in Leadville, Colorado, 2023 and 2024
Multiple sources of mine drainage including discharge from the abandoned Dinero mine tunnel and two gulches flow into a wetland, known herein as the Dinero wetland along the Lake Fork Creek corridor. The Dinero wetland is approximately xx acres in extent. The Dinero wetland is being considered as a location for passive treatment of the mine drainage flowing through it. As such, study...
National-scale dataset of strontium isotope compositions in environmental materials for the United States National-scale dataset of strontium isotope compositions in environmental materials for the United States
This database contains published strontium isotopic ratios (87Sr/86Sr) and associated sample collection data for strontium dissolved in environmental waters for the United States (conterminous, Hawaii, Alaska, and coastal seawater). Samples included in this version were collected and analyzed between 1963 to 2022.
Environmental Strontium Isotope Web Viewer Environmental Strontium Isotope Web Viewer
The Environmental Strontium Isotope Web Map is an interactive mapping application for displaying strontium isotope data in environmental materials (for example, waters) in geographic relation to underlying bedrock geology that drives the isotope composition. Together, these data form the basis for isotopic fingerprinting applications in geologic, hydrologic, ecologic, and forensic science.
