Landsat 9 Thermal Infrared Data Acquisitions Suspended Temporarily
The Landsat 9 Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS-2) experienced an issue with the on-board software on March 12, 2022 (DOY 071). As a result, TIRS-2 science imaging has been suspended temporarily. A software patch has been developed and will be applied in the coming days.
The instrument is expected to resume science imaging later this week. Landsat 9 Operational Land Imager 2 (OLI-2) data will be acquired during this time, resulting in OLI-only (LO09) products being available for download or direct access.
Another announcement will be posted when TIRS-2 resumes science data acquisition.
