ARIS hydroacoustic sonar collecting fish passage imagery
Detailed Description
An Adaptive Resolution Imaging Sonar (ARIS) unit (Sound Metrics Corp., Bellevue, WA, USA) collects underwater images using sound waves at a water-control structure placed within the USFWS Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge in Saginaw, Michigan. Image data, collected at all times of day and in clear to poor water clarity, will inform scientists about fish habitat use of restored wetland areas within the refuge.
