Detailed Description

The Manicouagan Impact Crater was created when a large asteroid fell onto what is now Quebec, Canada, more than 215 million years ago. The circular depression, filled with water after the completion of a dam, and other nearby surface waters have contained consistent levels of waters since 1984, this map using Landsat data shows.
