Gas hydrate forms around rising bubbles

Detailed Description

Gas hydrate (ice-like substance) forms around rising bubbles just above the seafloor in the northern Gulf of Mexico.  Orange substance is solid hydrate mixed with hydrocarbon impurities and forming an overhang above the seafloor.  Gray material is sediment coating the solid hydrate.
