Hydro techs inspecting water quality sensor
Detailed Description
Several New Mexico Water Science Center staff attended Continuous Water Quality Training, taught by Mike Nyman of the Texas Water Science Center and Lauren Sherson of the New Mexico Water Science Center. The course covered rationale for collecting continuous water quality data; field techniques for in-situ and continuous water quality data collection; and standard USGS waterquality data correction, processing, and archiving procedures.
The course field day at Cochiti Dam included measuring surface water temperature, pH, specific conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity using a YSI multi-parameter Sonde; performing on-site instrument maintenance; and downloading all continuous water quality data from a data logger.
