Marine terrace at Cayucos, California

Marine terrace in an area of low uplift rate. This terrace has a mix of corals dated to ~100,000 years (marine isotope substage or MIS 5.3) and ~120,000 years (marine isotope substage or MIS 5.5) and a mixture of extralimital northern (MIS 5.3?) and extralimital southern (MIS 5.5?) species of mollusks (Muhs, D.R., Simmons, K.R., Kennedy, G.L., and Rockwell, T.K., 2002, The last interglacial period on the Pacific Coast of North America: Timing and paleoclimate: Geological Society of America Bulletin, v. 114, p. 569-592).
