Biologist Chris Brown measures the length of a juvenile salamander. Since North America has the highest salamander diversity in the world – home to nearly half of all species worldwide – the introduction of Bsal, a deadly fungal pathogen (native to the Asian population), could be particularly devastating to them and potentially other amphibians.
