Mid-Elevation Desert 18 Years after Wildfire

This was a mid-elevation community that burned at high severity in 1992. The picture was taken eighteen years postfire (18 YPF), and the community has clearly been converted from one that was woody-dominated (shrubs and a few trees) to one dominated by invasive red brome Bromus rubens.
