Detailed Description
Earth is hurtling through the vastness of space, and we all are its passengers. Our only spaceship saves us from harmful radiation, external asteroids, through the warm blanket of its layered atmosphere. It gives us a suitable environment to grow, thrive and live our lives.
This is the picture of replica of Earth in the atrium of the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center near Sioux Falls, SD. It reminds us that we need to save and preserve our planet from our own actions. Earth, with its limited resources, can only nourish us and our future generations if we keep it green and healthy.
