Sandy Rover

Detailed Description

Sandy, the autonomous rover pictured, is a UxS integrated prototype platform intended to enable the BisonCore - a UASRC software suite - to mesh and operationalize numerous sensor inputs towards testing new UxS technology such as: navigationally integrated Collision Detection and Avoidance algorithms using AI/Computer Vision,  Companion Computer/Payload Derived or Directed operation, Multiple Coordinated Vehicle Operation, and the minimization of the technical barrier of entry to integrate future scientific applications. The colorful background superimposed behind Sandy is the Computer Vision rendering of a stereo-depth image captured from the front cameras, where the color represents the distance away from the sensor.
