Transcript

At the USGS Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program, we value the Earth.

Our mission is to provide science for sustainable stewardship of Earth’s precious resources.

We are inspired through our work in diverse environments like coastal marshes, beaches, and the deep ocean floor.

We challenge ourselves to conduct research that enables our Nation to protect against natural hazards, quantify resources, understand ecosystems, and have the tools needed to forecast changes.

We study corals, hurricanes, gas hydrates, and more, advance technology and map the sea floor, and work with partners and other agencies to ensure our Nation has the best information to manage resources and prepare for natural hazards and impacts of change.

We are the USGS Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program.
