The Bureau of Land Management is partnering with U.S. Geological to provide improved decision support to Burned Area Emergency Stabilization and Rehabilitation (ESR) planning efforts.

The Land Treatment Exploration Tool (LTET) now provides a customized report for ESR planning efforts, which maps and quantifies variables related to soils, vegetation, site conditions, climate, and other biophysical factors which are fundamental considerations in post-fire planning. Beginning in 2020, the report is a required attachment to all ESR plans submitted to State and National Offices.
