Title: Wildlife, Water, and One-health: Considerations for Wildlife in Water Related Disasters
Presenter: Dr. Christine Densmore, DVM
Disaster preparation and response provides a prime example of the need to consider wildlife interests as a critical component of the one-health outlook. Water related disasters such as flooding from heavy precipitation patterns, landfalling tropical cyclones, or human driven events exemplify the scope of realized and potential impacts of disasters on wildlife populations, wildlife disease ecology, and the implications for human, domestic animal, and environmental health interests.
