Public Invitation: Western South Dakota Water Conference with Keynote Lectures
The public and media are invited to attend a free conference about critical South Dakota water issues on April 9 in Rapid City. The John T. Loucks Distinguished Lecturer, Dr. Thomas Loveland of the U.S. Geological Survey EROS Data Center, will deliver “Landsat 8: A Sharper Eye in the Sky” during the luncheon. The lead-off keynote speaker, Michael Campana of Oregon State University, will present “Integrated Water-Resources Management—The Emperor’s New Clothes or Indispensable Process?”
The 12th annual Western South Dakota Hydrology Meeting will allow a variety of scientists, students, and other interested individuals to meet and exchange ideas, discuss mutual issues, and present the results of studies. Sessions include presentations about in-situ mining, water-resources management, ecosystems, climate, groundwater, and erosion.

DETAILS: Free to the public and students with an optional $20 lunch. Professional registration fees are $100. For engineers who wish to obtain credit for professional development, credits are available for technical sessions attended.
