113. What data responsibilities need to be included in cooperators/collaborators agreements or contracts?

The agreement or contract with the cooperators/collaborators should clearly specify data ownership responsibilities, including expectations for curation and release. This information should also be included in the USGS project DMP (refer to SM 502.6). All final scientific data must include complete metadata (refer to SM 502.7) and be reviewed as described in SM 502.8 prior to being released by the USGS or provided to research partners under cooperative/collaborative agreements (refer to E.2.12).
