The agreement or contract with the cooperators/collaborators should clearly specify data management responsibilities, including requirements for curation and release. This information should also be included in the USGS project data management plan (refer to SM 502.6). USGS scientific data must include complete metadata (refer to SM 502.7) and be reviewed as described in SM 502.8 prior to being released by the USGS or provided to research partners under cooperative/collaborative agreements (refer to FAQ 093).
