The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Bumble bees and flowering plants on Montana rangelands, 2023-2024 (ver. 3.0, March 2025) Bumble bees and flowering plants on Montana rangelands, 2023-2024 (ver. 3.0, March 2025)

USGS personnel surveyed bumble bees and flowering plants on private and public lands in Central Montana during the spring and summer of 2023 and 2024. These data provide a summary of what was found, including the number of bumble bees caught during standardized netting surveys and a comprehensive list of all plants in flower within survey plots during each site visit. First release: 2023...

Regional flood skew for parts of the Mid-Atlantic and South-Atlantic-Gulf regions (hydrologic unit codes 02 and 03) in eastern Virginia, eastern West Virginia, and western Maryland Regional flood skew for parts of the Mid-Atlantic and South-Atlantic-Gulf regions (hydrologic unit codes 02 and 03) in eastern Virginia, eastern West Virginia, and western Maryland

This dataset contains site information, results of at-site flood-frequency analysis, and results of Bayesian weighted least-squares/Bayesian generalized least-squares (B-WLS/B-GLS) analysis of regional skewness of the annual peak flows for 405 streamflow gaging stations (streamgages) operated by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in parts of the Mid-Atlantic and South-Atlantic-Gulf...

This dataset contains site information, basin characteristics, results of flood-frequency analysis, and results of Bayesian weighted least-squares/Bayesian generalized least-squares (B-WLS/B-GLS) analysis of regional skewness of the annual peak flows for 785 streamflow gaging stations (streamgages) operated by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in the Tennessee and parts of the Ohio and...

Sediment core data from offshore Cascadia during field activity 2022-653-FA Sediment core data from offshore Cascadia during field activity 2022-653-FA

This data release contains sediment core data including X-ray Computed Tomography (CT) scans, photos, and multi-sensor core logger (MSCL) data. Sediment cores were collected along the Cascadia Subduction Zone (offshore northern California, Oregon and Washington) during U.S. Geological Survey cruise 2022-653-FA aboard the M/V Bold-Horizon. The cores were collected to evaluate potential...

Coastal Single-beam Bathymetry Data Collected in 2023 from the Chandeleur Islands, Louisiana Coastal Single-beam Bathymetry Data Collected in 2023 from the Chandeleur Islands, Louisiana

Scientists from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center (SPCMSC) conducted single-beam and multibeam bathymetry (Stalk and others, 2025) surveys around the northern Chandeleur Islands, Louisiana, from June 12 to 20 and from July 31 to August 9, 2023, as part of Field Activity Number (FAN) 2023-325-FA. The purpose of data collection was to...

Data supporting nanometer-scale relationships between sedimentary organic matter molecular composition, fluorescence, cathodoluminescence, and reflectance Data supporting nanometer-scale relationships between sedimentary organic matter molecular composition, fluorescence, cathodoluminescence, and reflectance

This data release describes optical photothermal infrared (OPTIR) spectroscopy data used to map sedimentary organic matter functional group distributions at 500 nm resolution in a sample from the Lower Cretaceous Sunniland Limestone from the South Florida Basin. Examined fields of view include occurrences of amorphous organic matter (AOM), inertinite, micrinite, solid bitumen...

Dataset of magnetic susceptibility and magnetization measurements from the Monument dike swarm in Central Oregon, USA Dataset of magnetic susceptibility and magnetization measurements from the Monument dike swarm in Central Oregon, USA

We measured the magnetic fabric of 205 oriented paleomagnetic specimens, subsampled from 97 samples collected from 15 dikes of the Monument dike swarm. Anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility is the directionally dependent response of a specimen to an induced magnetization and is a function of the magnetic mineral properties (e.g., size, shape, mineralogy, domain state, orientation). We...

Labeled satellite imagery for training machine learning semantic segmentation models of coastal shorelines Labeled satellite imagery for training machine learning semantic segmentation models of coastal shorelines

A collection of data releases containing labeled satellite imagery for the purpose of training Machine Learning models to automate the task of shoreline extraction from satellite imagery. Shoreline mapping from satellite imagery, known as Satellite-Derived Shorelines or SDS, has the potential to transform coastal shoreline mapping for erosion hazard mapping and coastal resource...

USGS CoastCam at Isla Verde, Puerto Rico: 2022-2023 Calibration Data USGS CoastCam at Isla Verde, Puerto Rico: 2022-2023 Calibration Data

Two digital video cameras were installed at Isla Verde, Puerto Rico (PR); camera 1 faced northeast offshore and camera 2 faced east-northeast along the beach. Every hour during daylight hours, daily starting in August 2022, the cameras collected raw video and produced snapshots and time-averaged image products. This data release includes the necessary intrinsic orientation (IO) and...

Code to assemble and generate output for an integrated population model of the endangered Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow Code to assemble and generate output for an integrated population model of the endangered Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow

This data release contains the R code to run an integrated population model (IPM) for the Cape Sable Seaside Sparrow (CSSS; Ammospiza maritima mirabilis), a federally endangered bird endemic to a small part of the Everglades in southern Florida, USA, and provides the parameter estimates from the model. The IPM synthesizes thirty years (1992-2021) of range-wide surveys, mark-resight, and...
