The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Alakaʻi Plateau, Kauaʻi, mosquito, stream survey, and avian malaria infection data 2018-19 Alakaʻi Plateau, Kauaʻi, mosquito, stream survey, and avian malaria infection data 2018-19

This data release consists of mosquito and spatial coordinate data collected along the Halepaʻakai Stream drainage in the Alakaʻi Wilderness Preserve on the island of Kauaʻi from late 2018 to early 2019. These data reflect the first extensive, systematic surveys of adult and larval southern house mosquitoes, Culex quinquefasciatus, in breeding habitat for the critically endangered...

Use of Landsat imagery to assess spatial variability in the normalized difference vegetation index in the contributing area of USGS groundwater wells to help describe land-use changes across the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, Montana, 1990-2020 Use of Landsat imagery to assess spatial variability in the normalized difference vegetation index in the contributing area of USGS groundwater wells to help describe land-use changes across the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, Montana, 1990-2020

This exploratory study examined vegetation changes in agricultural fields using imagery analysis in the surface areas overlying the Flaxville aquifer and other aquifers in Montana from 1990 to 2020. Agricultural fields were manually digitized and can be found in flaxville_ag_fields.shp. This analysis used surface reflectance data from Landsat satellites to calculate the 95th percentile...

Mercury concentrations in fish and macroinvertebrates from the Duck Valley Reservation and nearby waters, southwestern Idaho and northern Nevada, 2007–2024 Mercury concentrations in fish and macroinvertebrates from the Duck Valley Reservation and nearby waters, southwestern Idaho and northern Nevada, 2007–2024

This data release contains mercury concentration measurements in fish and benthic macroinvertebrates collected from southwestern Idaho and northern Nevada between 2007 and 2024. The dataset primarily includes total mercury (Hg) concentrations in muscle tissue of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)—sampled from three reservoirs on the Duck Valley Reservation (Mountain View Reservoir, Lake...

Co-polarized Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Change Map between 11/28/2025 and 12/09/2025, Hubbard Glacier Earthquake Co-polarized Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Change Map between 11/28/2025 and 12/09/2025, Hubbard Glacier Earthquake

This data release contains a radar-based remote sensing product used to detect regions of surface change in southern Yukon Territory, Canada and southeast Alaska, United States between November 28, 2025 and December 9, 2025, based on the availability of Sentinel-1 satellite data. Much of this surface change is interpreted to have been triggered by the M7.0 Hubbard Glacier Earthquake that...

Ground-Penetrating Radar Surveys of Subsurface Features in the Snake River near Boise, Idaho Ground-Penetrating Radar Surveys of Subsurface Features in the Snake River near Boise, Idaho

In September 2025, the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with Idaho Power Company, conducted a pilot geophysical survey along the Snake River between the Boise River confluence and Swan Falls Dam in southwestern Idaho. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate the utility of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) for mapping the spatial distribution and thickness of gravel deposits within...

Streamflow and Surface Water-quality Data to Support the Assessment of the French Broad River During Highway Construction in Western North Carolina, 2019-2022 Streamflow and Surface Water-quality Data to Support the Assessment of the French Broad River During Highway Construction in Western North Carolina, 2019-2022

This Data Release serves as a companion to the USGS Scientific Investigations Report titled "Streamflow Characterization and Effects of Highway Construction on Water-quality and Channel Morphology of the French Broad River near Highway Construction in Buncombe and Henderson Counties, North Carolina, 2019-2022" (Stillwell and others, 2026). Two tables of data are included in this Data...
