Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Deep (15-second) seismic reflection profiles CC-1 and CC-2 extending from the eastern California Coast Ranges across the Great Valley into the Sierran foothills at about latitude 37.25 Degrees N Deep (15-second) seismic reflection profiles CC-1 and CC-2 extending from the eastern California Coast Ranges across the Great Valley into the Sierran foothills at about latitude 37.25 Degrees N
This data release contains deep seismic reflection profiles CC-1 and CC-2, which extend eastward from within the California Coast Ranges across the Great Valley and into the Sierran foothills, with a combined east-west length of about 140 km at about the latitude of the town of Merced (37.25° north latitude). The records are processed to 15 seconds two-way time and thus extend deep into...
Charcoal data from four sites in Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge - August 2022 Charcoal data from four sites in Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge - August 2022
Charcoal counts and radiocarbon dates from four sediment cores collected in Great Dismal Swamp in 2017 and 2018 were incorporated into a synthesis of charcoal records from northern hemisphere peatlands (Sims et al., in review). Macroscopic charcoal was counted in three size classes: 125-250 micrometers, and 250-500 micrometers, and >500 micrometers. Uncalibrated radiocarbon dates were...
Array-based Surface-wave Active- or Passive-source Recordings at 10 Seismic Station Sites in California Array-based Surface-wave Active- or Passive-source Recordings at 10 Seismic Station Sites in California
The dataset is consisted of travel-time records (SWM_DATA.zip) in SEG2 format recorded using multi-station MASW and AM arrays near 10 seismographic stations located in California. A table in the spreadsheet (SWM_deployment_record.xlsx) summarizes the data collection, with multiple sheets providing further details about array configurations at each station. Stations included in the...
Decompartmentalization Physical Model (South Florida Water Management District) Periphyton Abundance and Biovolume Data 2017–21 (ver 1.1, April 2024) Decompartmentalization Physical Model (South Florida Water Management District) Periphyton Abundance and Biovolume Data 2017–21 (ver 1.1, April 2024)
Periphyton is a complex community of detritus, bacteria, fungi, and algae that grows attached to submerged substrates. Assemblage structure data for algae and cyanobacteria from periphyton samples were collected on a monthly basis from 2017 to 2021. Compiled data were reported as absolute abundance (cells) and biovolume per volume as well as absolute abundance (cells) and biovolume per...
Vegetation and soil cover data for long-term monitoring plots within Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge, Colorado, USA Vegetation and soil cover data for long-term monitoring plots within Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge, Colorado, USA
Sixty-eight monitoring plots within the Browns Park National Wildlife refuge in Northwest Colorado were surveyed in the Summer of 2007 and 2021 for vegetation-community changes after grazing cessation in 1986. Surveys consisted of line-point intercept measurements at 0.5m intervals along three 15-m transects arranged in a spoke around plot center at each plot location.
