Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Biome-wide sagebrush core habitat and growth areas estimated from a threat-based conservation design Biome-wide sagebrush core habitat and growth areas estimated from a threat-based conservation design
These data were compiled as a part of a landscape conservation design effort for the sagebrush biome, and are the result of applying a spatially explicit model that assessed geographic patterns in sagebrush ecological integrity and used these results to identify Core Sagebrush Areas (CSAs), Growth Opportunity Areas (GOAs), and Other Rangeland Areas (ORAs). Our overall objective in this...
Gridded South Carolina StreamStats Runoff Curve Numbers by NLCD Landcover and SSURGO Soils Class (ver. 1.1, September 2025) Gridded South Carolina StreamStats Runoff Curve Numbers by NLCD Landcover and SSURGO Soils Class (ver. 1.1, September 2025)
This dataset was produced by the US Geological Survey (USGS) as a supporting dataset to be used for the purpose of calculating stream gage basin characteristics in preparation for the South Carolina StreamStats application. This integer raster dataset represents runoff curve numbers for combinations of hydrologic soils groups and land cover classes within the South Carolina StreamStats...
Chemical and isotopic compositions of tropical wood samples Chemical and isotopic compositions of tropical wood samples
Illegal logging is one of the leading causes of deforestation today. Sadly, tree species indigenous to regions critical to maintaining Earth?s ecological diversity also possess properties (i.e. appearance, aroma, etc.) desirable to humans, which often leads to exploitation. In 1992, due to illegal logging, Brazilian rosewood (Dalbergia nigra) became the first ever tree species to be...
USGS46a Greenland ice core water ? A reference material for stable hydrogen and oxygen isotopic composition of water USGS46a Greenland ice core water ? A reference material for stable hydrogen and oxygen isotopic composition of water
Ice core from Greenland was melted, filtered, and homogenized. Its stable hydrogen (δ2H) and oxygen (δ18O) isotopic compositions were adjusted to approximately match those of USGS46 ice core water (δ2H = ?235.8 ? and δ18O = ?29.80 ?). This isotopic reference water, USGS46a, was loaded into glass ampules, sealed, autoclaved to eliminate biological activity, and calibrated by dual-inlet...
Sr concentrations and 87Sr/86Sr data used to determine the Sr-chronostratigraphic age of sirenian fossils on Santa Rosa Island, Channel Islands National Park, California, USA Sr concentrations and 87Sr/86Sr data used to determine the Sr-chronostratigraphic age of sirenian fossils on Santa Rosa Island, Channel Islands National Park, California, USA
This data release includes a table of Sr concentrations and 87Sr/86Sr data used to evaluate primary seawater isotope compositions of marine invertebrate shell material used to estimate the Sr-chronostratigraphic age of sediments hosting early Miocene sirenian fossils on Santa Rosa Island of the Channel Island National Park, Ventura County, California
Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis results with thiaminase activity stain of recombinant putative thiaminases expressed in E. coli Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis results with thiaminase activity stain of recombinant putative thiaminases expressed in E. coli
Data describe results of a set of laboratory experiments using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis with a thiaminase activity stain to test the solubility and thiaminase activity of recombinant putative thiaminases expressed in E. coli. Parameters described include the presence and relative mobility of thiaminases, and the presence and relative mobility of recombinant proteins...
