Data Releases
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.

Preliminary estimated annual agricultural pesticide use for counties of the conterminous United States, 2019 Preliminary estimated annual agricultural pesticide use for counties of the conterminous United States, 2019
This data release provides preliminary estimates of annual agricultural use of pesticide compounds in counties of the conterminous United States, for the year 2019, compiled by means of methods described in Thelin and Stone (2013) and Baker and Stone (2015). For all States except California, U.S. Department of Agriculture county-level data for harvested-crop acreage were used in...
Monthly estimates of natural baseflow for 15,866 stream reaches, defined by the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2.0 (NHDPlusV2), in the Delaware River Basin for the period 1950-2015 Monthly estimates of natural baseflow for 15,866 stream reaches, defined by the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2.0 (NHDPlusV2), in the Delaware River Basin for the period 1950-2015
This metadata record describes monthly estimates of natural baseflow for 15,866 stream reaches, defined by the National Hydrography Dataset Plus Version 2.0 (NHDPlusV2), in the Delaware River Basin for the period 1950-2015. A statistical machine learning technique - random forest modeling (Liaw and Wiener, 2018; R Core Team, 2020) - was applied to estimate natural flows using about 150...
Data and shapefiles used to document the floods associated with the January and March 2018 Nor'easters for Coastal Areas of New England (ver. 2.0, November 2021) Data and shapefiles used to document the floods associated with the January and March 2018 Nor'easters for Coastal Areas of New England (ver. 2.0, November 2021)
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) New England Water Science Center worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to document the floods of January 4, 2018 and March 2-4, 2018, in coastal Massachusetts. USGS conducted a frequency analysis of stillwater elevations at three National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration coastal gages following the coastal floods of 2018. The data for...
Guam automated radio telemetry network test data 2021 Guam automated radio telemetry network test data 2021
A major advancement in the use of radio telemetry has been the development of automated radio tracking systems (ARTS) which allow animal movements to be tracked continuously. A new ARTS approach is the use of a network of simple radio receivers (nodes) that collect radio signal strength (RSS) values from animal-borne radio transmitters. However, the use of RSS-based localization methods...
Aerial surveys of shorebirds at pre-migratory staging sites in western Alaska, 2018-2019 Aerial surveys of shorebirds at pre-migratory staging sites in western Alaska, 2018-2019
These data are in one table and document the numbers of four species of shorebird counted during aerial surveys of coastal sites in western Alaska. Survey regions encompassed coastline between the mouths of the Kuskokwim and Yukon rivers, and the northern coast of the Alaska Peninsula from the mouths of the Kvichak and Naknek Rivers to Nelson Lagoon. Surveys were flown from 7-9 September...
Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) Collection 1.0 Annual Land Cover and Land Cover Change Validation Tables (2000-2019) for Hawaii Land Change Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection (LCMAP) Collection 1.0 Annual Land Cover and Land Cover Change Validation Tables (2000-2019) for Hawaii
A validation assessment of Land Cover Monitoring, Assessment, and Projection annual land cover products (2000-2019) for Hawaii was conducted with an independently collected reference data set. Reference data land cover attributes were assigned by trained interpreters for each year of the time series (2000-2019) to a reference sample of 600 Landsat resolution (30m x 30m) pixels. The...
